She was born in Roswell on the 29th of March 1985. Gerina Michelle Mendoza has been her given name. Gerina Stevenson is a native of Mexico in the family of Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. She has Mexican heritage as well as an American of country of birth. Her lifelong passion for sports has made her a sports enthusiast. Gerina began golfing when she was the age of 15. Gerina attended Goddard High School for her higher education in high school. Gerina was a winner at an award at the New Mexico State Golf Tournament during her time in high school. Apart from volleyball, she competed on state-level. The year 2003 was the time she enrolled at the University of Texas. Her senior year was a success. she was the winner of every tournament she participated. In her undergraduate year, she received the Conference USA's player of the year as well as UTEP Female Athletic Champion of Year.
