In addition, she obtained an advanced degree in theatre. Contractor was given the lead character in Pericles after a one-year stint at University. She was a part of the audition for it during the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and won. The play received rave reviews and her performances during the 92 performances that in the production. It was also voted as the best production by Canadian critics in 2002. She was invited to join Stratford's conservatory, a program that allows only four males and eight women can take an intensive 20-week course of classical theater. Contractor's spot was assured during the upcoming season of shows, and she landed Hermia's role for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
